ForwardASmile started in Oakland in 2020 with a simple, stubborn belief: what you wear can spread a little good.

Felipe & Ivy Alves built the brand around the things they love — the Bay Area's grit and warmth, Brazil's joy and saudade, plants, wild places, and people who show up for each other. Every design is a small reminder to do a little better and pass a smile forward.

Everything is made to order, so we make less waste and more meaning. No giant warehouse of unsold stuff — just the piece you wanted, printed when you wanted it.

I grew up between São José do Rio Preto and Oakland, with a camera in one hand and soil under the other. To me, a smile and a tree are the same gesture — something good you put into the world and pass on. So every piece you wear plants one. We're rooting for you.
